Fraud Prevention Center

PENSCO is committed to taking a leadership role in helping prevent fraud in our industry. While our role does not include performing due diligence or evaluating the appropriateness of your investments, we care very much about helping you prevent fraud. To support you in that effort, PENSCO offers this Fraud Prevention Center.

Our Promise to You

PENSCO is committed to helping prevent fraud in self-directed retirement accounts. To individual investors and advisors, we promise to:

  1. Provide you with a number of resources to assist you as you conduct research to make informed decisions, including those that may help you avoid fraud.
  2. Inform you of secure, confidential processes to report known or suspected fraud to the appropriate authorities.
  3. Offer information and tools to thwart fraud before it happens.
  4. Actively cooperate with law enforcement officials investigating suspected fraudulent activity.
  5. Work with government agencies and industry organizations to continually develop new ways to minimize fraud.

The best way for any investor to prevent fraud in a self-directed account is through proper due diligence and ongoing monitoring of each investment. PENSCO does not perform any due diligence to evaluate investments for legitimacy; this is the responsibility of the investor and his/her advisor. We encourage you to educate yourself and to work with independent financial professionals while considering investments.
